Stacker Operators primary responsibility is the operation of the top and bottom down stackers. The Stacker Operator assists the Control Room Operator, ensuring that manufacturing order specifications along with quality and quantity requirements are met. The employee works near high-speed equipment with moving conveyor belts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensures the correct board stack labels are place on all board coming off the corrugator by marking the correct works order numbers ON ALL STACKS of board.
- Count and verify quantities on stacks as per stack labels
- Conduct accurate quality checks to ensure sheet have required dimensions and zero material defects
- Cross check board being produced coming off the corrugator dry end line- to ensure it is the correct board grade, size, scores
- Visually observe and physically check board for quality defects
- Make proper adjustments to make neatly stack sheets.
- Operates the control panels for both top and bottom stackers.
- Communicates with the Palletizer and Mosca operator to ensure coordination and reduce downtime
- Maintain workstation and machine equipment per 5S Standards.
- Turn in maintenance job cards to department managers/supervisors/engineering artisans for needed repairs.
- Support to control room and machine operation
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Assist where required at the board machine
- Assist in the training of dry end personnel.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years’ experience in corrugated industry, related to board manufacturing and dry end function
- Minimum completed Grade 12 (Matric)
- Solid understanding of different grades and flutes
- Must have a working knowledge of: Product quality specifications and Quality standards
- Safety and quality knowledge
